My Cards — and Where to Find Them
Share
Over the years, greeting cards have been a wonderful way to bring my paintings into everyday life — tucked into envelopes, sent across the world, pinned to noticeboards and kept long after the occasion has passed.
In the same way that my prints offer an affordable route into my work, cards do too — and I'm always delighted to hear that people frame them. No matter what the size the image holds the feeling.
A Little Background
Realising that the narrative quality of my images translated well in to prints and cards I began publishing them myself. For many years I worked with two or three agents building a catalogue of over forty designs. It was a genuinely exciting chapter — and the cards were very well received. During lockdown they became particularly popular, I think because people were craving beauty, nature, and a sense of connection — and a handwritten card felt more meaningful than ever.
But the reality of self-publishing is that it comes with its own weight: processing orders, managing stock, coordinating logistics. I found myself spending more time as a publisher than as a painter, and something had to change.
The solution was to step back from self-publishing and work with partners who could do it better than I could — leaving me free to get back to the studio.
Love from the Artist
For individual card buyers, my designs are available through Love from the Artist — a print-on-demand service that prints and ships cards directly to your door. There's a low minimum order, and the quality is excellent. They also supply trade, so if you're a shop or gallery interested in stocking my cards, Love from the Artist is a great place to start.
John Austin Publishing
My Christmas card packs and calendars are published by John Austin, a highly regarded publisher whose cards and calendars are stocked in shops and galleries across the country. As well as the Christmas packs, John Austin stock a large range of singles - currently around 48 card designs — so there's something for many occasions throughout the year. This year there are eight Christmas pack designs in the John Austin range. If you'd like to stock any of these in your shop, John Austin handle all trade enquiries.
Buy Direct from This Website
When my Christmas Shop launches on 15th September, you'll be able to buy directly here: four of the John Austin Christmas card designs — December Gloaming, The Ringing of Bells, Solstice Song, and The Leaping Hare — each as a pack of ten, plus the John Austin calendar. I may also have a small selection of single cards available — do check the shop when it opens on the 15th September. Perfect if you like to get ahead with your Christmas gifting and sending.
Whether you're sending a card for a special occasion, looking for a calendar to treasure through the year, or simply want to live with one of my images every day — I hope there's something here that feels right. And if you do frame a card, I'd love to see it.
