Sing a song of sixpence, a pocket full of rye, four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie — and when the pie was opened, the birds began to sing. The blackbird has always been the most musical of omens, its song the oldest currency of the English hedgerow.

The original painting holds a secret: a real sixpence buried in the paint at the bottom of the picture.
