WARMING THE SHADOWS print

Stag stands at the edge of the wood, where the shadows are warm, and the earth smells of leaf mould and rain. The days are shortening now, the light arriving low and amber. This is a painting about the fullness of the season, of copper and umber, bracken's deep reds, and the dark richness of the soil beneath.

The original painting is acrylic on canvas with copper leaf and black mica flakes, enhanced with luminous glazes to suggest warmth and depth.
