The hare leaps at the edge of the silver dawn — between land and water, between night and morning, between one world and the next. Below, the fish move through the dark river; above, the full moon is still bright in the fading sky. The hare has always belonged to this liminal place, neither fully of the earth nor of the air, a creature of thresholds and transformation.

This is a painting about that charged moment just before light.
