The iconic tump of trees on the A30 is loved by many people who regard it as the sign that they are 'nearly home' to Cornwall. The house is based on my own home in Helston and is a symbol of security and peace.
One of Catherine Hyde's most beloved paintings — recognised and cherished by all who know the road into Cornwall, and by anyone who has ever felt the particular relief and warmth of nearly home. The copper leaf in the original painting gives the image a warm, glowing quality, as though the light itself is welcoming you back.
