AS THE MOON ROSE print

As the moon rose, the barn owl lifted from the riverbank. The trees stand dense and dark on either side, their canopy closing overhead, while the water below catches the first pale light. This is a painting about that suspended moment — the owl mid-flight, the moon just clearing the treeline, and the rising scent of the cool river.

The original painting is acrylic on canvas, with gold mica flakes worked into the trees, so that the woodland shimmers with a quiet, unearthly light.
