SUNDOWN painting

The last moments of day linger,
sky glows gold.

Sundown is a study for Darkling, published in 2024 by Apollo, an imprint of Bloomsbury, and shortlisted for the Holyer an Gof Award for Poetry 2025. Painted in acrylic and mixed media on panel, the work holds the charged stillness of dusk — rooks rising, light burning at the edge of the world before dark takes hold.

Original painting. 8 × 8 inches (20 × 20 cm). Framed size: 13 × 13 inches (33.5 × 33.5 cm).
